662851 2008-04-26 08:47:00 Hi
I Found 2 wireless routers in the inorganic rubbish collection, lol, 1 is a dlink dl-614+ and the other is a linksys wag54g. THEY WERE BOTH WET WHEN I FOUND THEM. the linksys wag54g diddnt turn on so o opened up and found inside that it is using a wireless PCMIA Cardbus(lol) and so i took it out and put it in my laptop, that was all fine and dandy:cool: But the dlink dl-614+ turns on for about 10 secs with ALL lights on then turns off again. i am using the power supply from a working dlink home router. I am not sure if there is a way to fix the dlink dl-614+.all conections look fine. If anybody has any ideas that would be great
Thanks

Looked online for others who have had the same problem?

Make sure the power supply outputs the correct number of volts and amps for the router, not all units use the same.

it fits perfectly and the router lights go on, the power supply is from a d-link dsl-g604t wireless router so i think it is the same

662856 2008-04-26 22:33:00 in the top right by a cluster of capacitors i can smell burning and there is also a resistor and a few other things around the area. If i reset it it doesnt change at all and i looked on the internet and nothing.

Thanks

662857 2008-04-26 23:01:00 Chances are, they are dead, mainly cause you said they were wet... Water and electronics do not mix well... The_End_Of_Reality (334)
662858 2008-04-26 23:05:00 i suppose so, anyway the people must have thrown them out for a reason and then they got wet anyway.

Thanks Everyone Anyway
