376210 2005-07-27 23:09:00 I get the itunes newsletter, and every week there is a free 'single of the week'
now the problem is I cant access it,

I click on the link in the newsletter thingie
then
It takes me to a page where i click if I have itunes or not, I click yes
then
it opens iTunes and starts accessing the store
then
a pop up box tells me
The request cannot be completed
The item you have requested is not currently in the UK store

I know Invercargill can be cold and damp, but it isn't that close to the UK

any help would be appreciated

Thanks

376211 2005-07-27 23:20:00 What version of Itunes are u using?

Might be the site/store itself, cant do much about it, until they fix it.

Try another store, if the newletter told u what the name of the single was.

376212 2005-07-27 23:21:00 Ok I tried a link from the previous newsletter,

got the same message, but it told me that it was available at the US store, and would I like to change stores,

so clicked yes, it changed stores then promptly told me it was unavailable at the US store

Then i went to this weeks news letter clicked on the link, it connected fine, brought down a picture of the single and a 'get song' link in itunes

I clicked on the the get song icon,

it asked me for my ID apple or AOL
I entered my AOL ID (from the days of free netscape addresses) it went through to a page

That told me the country of my AOL account is not valid for itunes

then it started asking for credit card info

Is this "song of the week" free, do I need to give my credit card number, to get the song, or is there another way to get it, I am going to try changing my location on my AOL account and see if that helps

any help would be Greatly appreciated

376213 2005-07-27 23:43:00 Well i've changed my country to the US and my zip to 90210 but still getting

'the country of my AOL account is not valid for itunes'

Rather bizzarly i also discovered i have a seperate AOL account that i have no memory of setting up, with all the same setting as my netscape account (taken over by AOL, but still working fine), so changed settings there as well but no luck yet,
might try tomorrow just to see if it takes time for my details to update in various accounts

thanks for the help

376214 2005-07-27 23:59:00 itune music store is not avalible outside of the country that it desides in,
you will have to wait till the aussie one opens and who knows when that will happen, unless you can give them a valid us or uk address for your i.d..

376215 2005-07-28 01:22:00 To be able to download the free singles of the week from iTunes, I think you need to have an iTunes account (which requires your CC info). You are unable to register an account if your country doesnt have an iTunes store.

Yeah, still waiting for the Australia/New Zealand iTunes store...

probably uses an us apple id or address or similar, people were selling set up accounts on trademe for a while, you can get around it, but until they start making it a bit easier I'll continue using my favorite download service,Limewire.
