663589 2008-05-02 02:30:00 I recieved a reply, Thgough I did accuse them of ignoring customer complaints and queries about the speed. And while the staff are polite and I presume as helpful as they can be, The situation is still piss poor.

I'm going to hit them up for a refund..

Hello,

We are aware of the current peak time international issues and are
working on a number of options that should help to alleviate these
issues so peak time speeds can return to previous levels.

At this time I can give no gaurantees or time frames because I simply
have not been given any.

663590 2008-05-02 03:54:00 Looks like the same canned response that I got. After some follow up emails and a good long discussion with one of the staff I believe that I understand the problem (P2P abuse) and understand their proposed solution (new plans to change behaviour).

I don't think this goes far enough. They should be actively dealing with the individual users that are causing the problem. Either directly by managing the account to isolating them from the rest. Or by throttling P2P services. But it seems that they are not prepared to do this.

So I've decided to vote with my feet....

663591 2008-05-02 03:54:00 OK, where do we go? I might seriously consider going back to the dark side! What speed to LA from telecom/xtra at peak time? linw (53)
663592 2008-05-02 04:34:00 Still doesn't make sense to me. I'm going like a train.

Perhaps I've got everyone elses bandwidth.

Perhaps I've got everyone elses bandwidth. Hi Jack, are you using a static IP? Apparently these are affected as badly.....

My national speed is ok, but many international sites are slow as anything. Try doing a speedtest.net to new york, and see what your readings are.

The fact they haven't put an announcement on their homepage means that they are denying anything is wrong . I am sure that if they did, then a lot of people would be asking for some frorm of compensation . . I guess only people who they have emailed admitting the problem to, have any case for compensation .
