| 375724 | 2005-07-27 00:22:00 | ACT MP Stephen Franks is threatening to name a Television New Zealand star, saying the state broadcaster wants name suppression while the person faces serious violent sex charges in order to protect its profit levels. Yesterday Mr Franks claimed in Parliament that TVNZ had "colluded" to protect the name of one of its stars until their programme stopped screening. Feel free to lock this when people start guessing. We all know it's Judy Bailey. :D |

And before anyone says he hasn't been convicted, take note of the number of times the police have published the names of people they think might be guilty of something. Before they are even charged. One law for "celebreties" and another for the rest of us. |

| 375728 | 2005-07-27 03:36:00 | All this celebrity this and celebrity that, is getting very boring. Why do you care so much about them without even mentioning, most times, the alleged victims. Gotta agree with you Winnie. It seems people are more interested in pushing their own narrow minded barrows, than actually seeing justice done. Ever thought that it might be to protect the victims identity, or perhaps the type of accusation it is can ruin peoples lives despite acquittal, or that preliminary proceedings take place to see if there is a case to answer? If you can't get your brain into gear, go sit in the corner and contemplate your navel until the other half of your wit surfaces. As for Franks, what a blithering idiot, I guess he's in good company though. It's a good thing that parliament gets disolved shortly in preparation for the election. Then publicity seeking morons wont have parliamentry priviledge to hide behind. I expect we'll have to put up with a few more before it happens. |
