| 375610 | 2005-07-26 14:07:00 | RSS feeds have become a requisite of websites over the last year, but I still haven't regularly used them. The other day, after seeing news of Yahoo! acquiring Konfabulator (http://www.konfabulator.com/), I downloaded it again after it being swept off my computer last reformat a couple of months ago. Installed and having a bump around again with various widgets, I settled into a lite rss reader widget. I dugg around a few of the sites I regularly keep an eye on, found their respective RSS feeds and plugged the urls into the RSS reader. Well, now it was twice as helpful than the other very nice looking widgets cos it was actually pretty handy (sal.neoburn.net). So yeah, do you guys use RSS feeds at all? I think I do now. |

| 375611 | 2005-07-26 19:22:00 | I use RSS feeds all the time, although my RSS feeder is KDE's KNewsTicker. I have the headlines scrolling along the top of my screen in a ticker tape fashion. If you notice any headline that looks interesting, you just click on the title and that article opens up in your web browser. I do have Firefox setup with one RSS feed, but I always forget about it because it is hidden out of sight under the bookmarks. The KNewsTicker is a great way of finding interesting news articles, I currently have nine sites setup, each with up to the lastest 10 articles which are checked for updates every 30 mins. KNewsTicker comes preconfigured with the RSS feeds for quite a wide ranging selection of news websites that you can select. If you have an RSS feed setup on a fast changing forum, you tend to be either out of date (depends on your refresh rate) with your headlines or you only see a small sample of the latest. Would be very easy to miss something that interests you. :) |

| 375614 | 2005-07-26 22:26:00 | I use RSS feeds too, it's built into my Mac 'Safari' Browser. Great way to stay up to date without having to visit all the sites but can easily open the feed to get more info. |

Yeah, apart from Live Bookmarks covering RSS bases for Firefox, are there any RSS Firefox Extensions someone can recommend? Something comparable to RSS support on Safari. I had a quick look at Sage (addons.mozilla.org), might have a closer look later today. |
