Everytime i try to run the program it comes up with a buffer overrun error.

664197 2008-04-30 06:14:00 If you try to fit in more characters than a buffer (memory area) can hold, you cause an overrun, and data bytes are written where they shouldn't be .

Buffer overrun errors have been a known problem for a long time, and have allowed many nasty things to happen . The runtime libraries now include versions of routines which give protection against overruns . Unfortunately, they always take a little longer to run than versions without the protection . So programmers looking for faster running programmes (or under pressure from managers) often use unsafe routines, on the principle "it can't happen" .

The fact that you get an error message indicates they used the safe routines, and something caused an attempted overrun .

Are you short of memory? DVD ripping programme would need lots of memory to work in .

You might try a memory testing programme, in case there are some bad patches causing you to have less memory than you, or the system thinks . . Memtest86+ is well regarded .

664198 2008-04-30 07:19:00 Thanks for your reply,
I have 640mb of ram, can't recall how that is made up. Programs website states a minimum of 256mb.
If I increase my virtual memory would that make a difference?
I'm also running xilisofts dvd to ipod without any probs!?

664199 2008-04-30 21:03:00 I have been in contact with Xilisofts support team, they suggested uninstalling then downloading a new copy and installing that copy. At the end of the install there is an error that I did'nt notice before.

"c:\Program Files\Xilisoft\DVD Rippper Ulitmate 5\aspi\reg_xp.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

Any Help would be appreciated.
