2008-04-29 06:33:00 | Just installed service pack 1 not a problem and didn't take as long as it said. But on going back into it found that there was no internet connection. The diagnose service that helps fix could not fix it. I know I read somewhere recently of how to fix that but do you think I can find it. Can someone point me in the right direction please, much apreciated. Turtle

2008-04-29 06:44:00 | Had that problem a few days ago on a customers PC, by reinstalling the network drivers fixed it. (assuming its a Ethernet card connection) | wainuitech (129) | |

2008-04-29 10:25:00 | Go into the network Settings, here Shows How / Where (support.cox.com) look at the Settings under IPV4 - make sure they are set to obtain automatically. If every thing looks Ok,Try rebuilding the TCP/IP stack. Click Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt. ( or click Start, in the search type in CMD, when it appears in the results right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.) In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands: Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log Reboot the machine.

2008-04-29 10:49:00 | Thanks and will check it out tommorrow as off to bed now. This seems very familiar to what happened with XP when it went wrong and when it first came out. Damn!!!! That normally needed a reload, hope it dosn't come to that... :(

2008-04-29 11:35:00 | Service packs / Upgrades? Can cause different problems to different PC's - Some have no problems at all , others make you want to go :crying :angry Usually there is a fix - just a case of finding the right one.
