2005-08-05 01:15:00 | User pays, Its a beautiful system. For my next move I have decided to build a new shop, stock it with a million dollars worth of gear, buy a hundred thousand dollar wagon and up my salary to a cool million a year. This will be covered by putting my rates up to $1000 an hour and putting 2000% markup on all retail ,Looking foward to it. Damn, Just remembered I don't have a government protected monopoly.

2005-08-05 01:29:00 | well, First off your running an Nforce3 board which doesn't suport dual channel (that was implemented in the Nforce4) so you cn give up chasing that tail. And the last info you posted looks like a list of your motherboard capabilites not its current running speed. If the bios is set to speed or auto for the ram setting then you should be right, and your system should tell you what speed the old girl is running at on startup....

2005-08-05 01:37:00 | Hey Metla, Will you have a look at my M/B query and see what you think? Ta, If you would like to buy a new one, the price is now $1456.25. This brings the Metla Corpertion prices in line with Telecom. Please note. From now on, anyone wanting to get hold of The Metla Corperation can simply dial *666 from any cell phone. Calls cost $12.78 a minute. This includes time spent on hold and trying to remember which number it was for the option you want which was six options ago. Calls made to The Metla Corperation help line are made at your own risk and you should NOT consult the bill payer first. Any advice given by The Metla corperation may/maynot be of benifit to you and The Metla Corperation can in no way be held responsible for this. In fact any querys after the fact will result in the phrase "metla who?" being uttered. Metla Corperation reserves the right to charge you $364 at any time for "being a bastard" :p Please note: The above statement is a complete piss take and in no way supposed to be taking seriously. Anyone who does indeed take it to seriously should consider having a personality implant.

2005-08-05 06:01:00 | Now we know why Telecom's prices are so high. They need the money. That figure may sound good, but it is meaningless unless you know the capital investment and turnover figures. It could be a absolute disaster. According to the latest Reseller News (another fine IDG publication) HP makes an annual profit of around $4 billion per year, or 5% on investment, but 75% of that comes from printers, with sales of $25 billion (12% return). The rest of their business interests turn a measly $1 billion from sales of $55 billion. That's less than 2% return and hardly worth getting out of bed in the morning. They'd do better to dump all other business, stick to printers and leave the rest of their moolah in the bank. Be interesting to know what Telecom's return is, though presumably since the iron maiden is still in the seat it must be OK or she would have fallen on her sword by now. Cheers Billy 8-{)

Well, in the last few years my internet bill has halved and my phone bill tripled because Telecom like to make lotsa money out of people who have Vodafone mobile and have their calls diverted from Telecom landline. My impression is that they will always charge accordingly where they can get away with it, it's the nature of business if you really care (sic) about your customers. Now Vodafone get in touch every now and then just to see if I'm happy with their service and to advise me that I'm on the most 'cost effective' plan... strangely that endears me to their service somewhat! |
