664416 2008-04-30 21:41:00 Well I bought some of the 'parts' from Ascent. (motherboard from Ascent, CPU from PBTech) Do you think they'll help me solve the problem? EviLClouD (12981)
664417 2008-04-30 22:28:00 Well if they dont, you'll never get it going.

Unless you buy another CPU, that works with the version of your BIOS.

Then flash the BIOS, then you'll have to put your CPU back in, to see if it works

The only reason you're taking it back to the shop, is to see if the BIOS on yours is F1, if it is, it doesnt support your CPU.

They need to install a lower spec CPU, then flash it to F2, then put your CPU back in.

664419 2008-04-30 22:45:00 You're not seeing this are you ? (www.imagef1.net.nz)

Thats what you need to find out. Where it says BIOS version, whether yours says F1 or F2.

Can you take a photo of what you've connected on the mobo, (done so far), and put it on Image F1??

664421 2008-05-01 02:25:00 UPDATE:

I believe the problem is solved. I took the pc to Ascent and the guy there installed a different cpu, helped me flash the Bios to F2 (Originally F1) and found out that the power switch was jammed, that was what was causing the auto shutdowns. Now I can access BIOS etc with this CPU, just a matter of the switch, which they said they'll send me a replacement.

Thank you Speedy, for all your replies and for being spot on the problem :D
