Billy Connelly wouldn't make the list in a gadrillion years, great comic no doubt, has a small amount of acting ability,no way near being a "star". Even the mentioned Johny Depp while being a talented actor has only had one movie that reached block buster status and a string of commercial failures, Hes not a bankable star. |

My mistake, Johnny Depp is a great actor, and only takes roles that won't make him look to cheesy, and that's perhaps why he aint no movie star |

| 377568 | 2005-08-03 07:56:00 | No doubt about it the man is one of the most talented actors in the movie business today, But that homo pirate he played was as cheesy a charecter as you can get..... | Metla (12) | ||

Highly amusing, hes so bad he couldn't even get his lines right (star wars: a new hope - You may recall him crying out "Carrie" instead of Leia at the end when he gets out of his ship, so so funny) My opinion Robert de Niro Jack Nicholson Al Pacino Marlon Brando Johnny Depp Edward Norton Christopher Walken Its all about versatility ie - Robert de Niro can make you s*%t yourself (Taxi Driver, Goodfella and make you laugh Meet the Parents/Fockers etc) Just because the movie earns lots doesn't necessarily make the actors in it any good! | 377572 | 2005-08-04 02:06:00 | If we are talking favourite actors then I would have to say they all pretty much suck . There are certainly some that hit a point where they turn out powerful convincing performances but thats as much as picking the right role as it is talent . And after a while they fade, become a shadow of there former selves, taking roles in films far below where they were at in the prime . Deniro is just lazy, you cant compare anything he has done in the last 10 years to what he done in his early days, same thing applies for Pacino . If anyone stands up as consitently giving everything to a role everytime it would have to be Sean Penn . . . . . All just my opinion, Not trying to tell anyone "how it is" . |
