664458 2008-04-30 21:53:00 Hi this is on some friends' comp. Comes up after a Spybot scan with "see includes log" and a mention of this Trojan. From looking around an upgrade of Spybot might be a fix - is what is mostly suggested, an upgrade to 1.54 instead of just updating an old version. Or maybe have to use some trojan remover as in Speedy's sig.
Just wondering if anyone had any experience of this.
TIA mark

Don't know how good those trojan removers are coz I've never used them - they don't work on 98se.

664459 2008-04-30 23:18:00 This may help (forums.spybot.info)

He/she may need the TCP/IP Settings plugin - !TCP/IP Settings plugin

Not sure if that'll fix the prob, or what it actually fixed on that site

Try rogueremover in my sig.

Install it update it then click on scan

I'll see if Pancake can give you instructions, might need to use Combofix, or SDfix

664460 2008-04-30 23:42:00 Thanks Speedy, yes it is something to do with TCP/IP. I found that too but noticed it was all a year old. When I get to their (my friends') comp I'll try rogueremover.
Cheers mc

664462 2008-05-01 00:52:00 Lets see what this shows ...

Please download HijackThis to your desktop..

www.trendsecure.com
Alternate link
download.bleepingcomputer.com

This program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Double-click on the file you just downloaded.
Click on the "Unzip" button to install. It will by default install to the directory - C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis

Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.

Should it not open, navigate to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis and double click on HijackThis.exe

1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.
2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log.
3. Post the hijackthis.log file here. Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless.

664463 2008-05-01 01:05:00 Thanks Pancake -have to wait till I see them again before trying anything on their comp. It's got XP so am hoping a trojan remover can do it - I mean one that works on the latest baddies and runs on Xp and later. mark c (247)
