665331 2008-05-03 05:17:00 I am currently looking for a replacement ISP to Xnet, after the problems with slow international website loading. Can anyone recommend one that uses a similar pricing model. I usually use less than 10GB, but sometimes use 15GB per month, depending on how much work I am doing. I also heard that orcon are having similar problems. It doesn't matter if they charge a churn fee, as I can set it up on a new line, so it can be setup as a new connection.

TIA

665332 2008-05-03 05:32:00 also avoid Snap, they are having the same problems as Xnet. stu161204 (123)
665333 2008-05-03 06:09:00 I think you'll find most ISPs are having the same problem.
We are with Xnet and have the problem.
As you have said Orcon are too and Snap. Also Xtra and iHug.

665334 2008-05-03 06:40:00 Also Xtra

Xtra's not having any international speed issues, As far as I am aware (although I am on Go Large).

665335 2008-05-03 06:55:00 changed from ihug to snap recently, international websites 24/7 are okay, naturally not as good during the peak which is generally 7pm to 11pm.. but otherwise no complaints.. i changed from ihug to snap because of snap night owl's unlimited data not because of speed issues.

as previously mentioned.. i think generally most isp's will have the same international speed issues.

It's interesting though to read on Geekzone about the difference between a static and dynamic IP on Xnet last night at 9.30pm.

My in-laws are on Xtra and they have been having problems with international sites at peak times as well.

665338 2008-05-03 09:54:00 Maybe have a look at ICONZ Full speed 15GB $69.95. A few dollars more than
Xnet plan.

Xtra looks good tonight, Saturday, compared with Xnet. A friend of mine, on Xtra, and I did some simultaneous speed tests between 8.00 and 8.15pm. Xtra d/l speeds were 2188 and 2162kb/s. Xnet speeds were 496 and 468kb/s.
