| 664889 | 2008-05-02 01:59:00 | I have been using Woosh wireless for the last couple of years and have been reasonably happy with it - especially the fact I can pop the PC card into my laptop and use it around the city etc. However the speed is really starting to get me down - especially since my boyfriend has just starting playing Xbox Live and is finding it sooo slooowww. So we're thinking of biting the bullet and getting a wired broadband set up. We live in a rented house that has a telephone line (well, there is a phone plugged into the jack so I assume so) but it's not connected up. We don't really have the need for a landline so would like to just get the broadband without the need to sign up for a landline. So (and this may be a silly question) but can companies supply you with wired broadband without having an 'active' phone line? |

Even if I didnt use a phone to ring out, I still had to pay to use the jack, if anything was plugged into (ie: a modem) |
