664899 2008-05-02 00:40:00 There used to be an exellent web site for sending texts but it shut down. Anyone know one that works? I tried freetext.co.nz but it didn't work. tamra (13689)
664900 2008-05-02 00:49:00 Welcome to Press F1 - if you have vodafone they have a Web 2 Txt (www.vodafone.co.nz) I use it all the time- works fine.

Not to sure about telecom - but I'm sure they must have something

I tried freetext.co.nz but it didn't work. I just tried it and it worked fine.

I did notice this in there terms though --
FreeText.co.nz is an independent website and provides SMS services to the users as described on the website www.FreeText.co.nz As I said above I'm with vodafone and it worked fine.

664901 2008-05-02 00:53:00 Telecom has WebText (www.xtra.co.nz).

Never used it though. Seems like it would work fine.

664902 2008-05-02 01:05:00 Do you mean text messaging to a mobile?

Outlook 2007 also supports this (its called Outlook Mobile Service), but I think you have to pay so much to use it, like the others.

In OL 2007, you would send it, as you would with an email

You can use Telecom, Vodafone or Telstra, as the provider by the looks of it

This is the site (http://www.smsofficer.com/) you go through.

You get a few trial credits, but then it looks like you pay in Euros (from $47 NZ to $169 NZ) for so many credits after

664904 2008-05-02 01:41:00 What was the problem with the free txt site you posted ?? Was there an error message or something.

I used it to send a test text to my cell and it worked fine, AFTER I entered the number correctly.

664905 2008-05-02 01:44:00 If you do send one, how would you get a / the reply? Speedy Gonzales (78)
664906 2008-05-02 01:53:00 If you do send one, how would you get a / the reply?
I expect you would get a reply from the person you sent it to on your own phone, and hopefully they would know who you were or you included your own number / name in the txt message.

I sent "testing txt" what I received was Testing Txt FreeSMS at freeText.co.nz

664907 2008-05-02 02:45:00 If this freetext.co.nz system works its a wonderful thing. Just tried to send a message to my brother, and waiting for his response.

I notice the people who provide this are based in Idaho USA.

664908 2008-05-02 02:49:00 Bah. Freetext has a limit of 5 texts per day, and no more than 1 per every 2 hours. Ah well. Greg (193)
