664684 2008-05-01 11:34:00 After un-checked 'Hidden Files & Folders' , I found that there are a big chunk of files in the
C:\Documents and Settings\userxxx\Temp
folder.

Is it safe to delete them?

664685 2008-05-01 12:01:00 If they are temporary IE or MS Office files then absolutely.

Use CCleaner and see if it picks them up and deletes them safely.

664686 2008-05-01 21:20:00 Though the basic windows disk cleanup searches temp files for deleting, ccleaner and similar cleaning programs attempt to specify what the temp files are and other info. This allows a informed choice on whether to delete them... kahawai chaser (3545)
664687 2008-05-01 23:32:00 "windows disk cleanup" is about as good as any Norton program - useless.

Use CCleaner

664689 2008-05-02 01:37:00 Do you mean the C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp folder ?

Well thats the only folder I can see.

Ccleaner doesnt clean this folder out (I just tried it). You would have to add this folder, if you use ccleaner (go to cleaner / windows / custom files and folders)

Then options / include and add the folder). Just make sure you add the right folder, coz everything in it will be deleted. Once you click on run cleaner

I think this folder is used for some programs that you run, or programs you install.

Don't know why that folder isn't being cleaned with your CC - It does on mine and other computers I use it on
