665394 2008-06-03 08:28:00 Thanks for that Misty. I've just registered there and will go and ask questions when I've time - probably not before tomorrow night at this stage. But that looks like a useful place from my quick look this morning.

Cheers :)
How did you get on R.M. - problem solved ?

665395 2008-06-04 04:27:00 I emailed Acronis last weekend - and still waiting. Have had one other query before and found the same, wait, wait ! :groan: Their software is very good but not their support.

WHich is one reason I dumped it, 2 many issues and they couldn't care less.

665396 2008-06-04 05:35:00 Yes - sorry for not reporting back on this one . I did get it sorted out - booting from the cd, rather than going in through Windows . Sorted out my Secure Zone, and then made the backup . I've really got a 'belt & braces' situation going now - backup in Secure Zone, backup on external drive, and a third one on DVDs!! (But I have only tested one of these - the one on the external drive, took an hour and a half to restore . :()

When I went back and reread the emails from Acronis, yes it did make sense . I was just being stupid (happens, doesn't it!) .

:thanks

665397 2008-06-04 06:25:00 It looks as if your computer does not support USB2 or it is not activated in Bios.
Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to restore.

It does (I think!). I looked in Bios and couldn't see where to change it... :(

I looked again (!) and see that USB 2.0 is enabled...
