| 665384 | 2008-05-07 07:15:00 | Any free program available that's similar to Acronis? sarel Yep - there's Segate's Disc Wizard which is a cut down version of Acronis True Image but I think it only works for Seagate and Maxtor drives |

| 665386 | 2008-05-07 07:40:00 | Yes but... I will still have the C Drive image on an external USB drive (one I have turned off and don't use) as well as the Secure Zone copy. The error message I get when setting up the Secure Zone (at the point of rebooting the first time) is "Failed to initialise because Windows station is shutting down". :crying In the meantime, I have uninstalled Acronins - and will reinstall in just a moment - just to see what that does for me! | 665387 | 2008-05-07 07:51:00 | I have never had any problem creating a secure zone. Have a look at the drive with disk manager and see if there is one, its usually right at the end. I would not rely on the secure zone by itself, but rather as a backup to another HDrv. My "C" drive is 13gigs & has 4gigs free and the backup Image is 2.9gig on normal compression. Takes about 15 minutes to a Seagate USB drive. |

And no - I'm not broken hearted - just thought it might have been a quicker way of recovery . Dreams are free!:punk I'll get back if I get a solution . The error message bothers me - don't know what it means . As an aside, I tried to resubscribe for 'Himself' to Scientific American - when I completed the form and pushed 'Go' I got a whole lot of Java??? Don't know what that means, but in the meantime 'He' is not subscribed . That will be my next mystery problem . Cheers :) |

Have had one other query before and found the same, wait, wait ! :groan: Their software is very good but not their support. It might be better to put your query on Wilders Security Forums - they get quite a few Acronis queries and being more public the queries seem to get quicker answers from Acronis.
