379664 2005-08-09 10:50:00 I'd vote for NZFirst, but I'm Chinese...

I'd vote for another party, but most of them are full of empty promises.

Then again... name me a political party who did ALL of what THE TAXPAYERS wanted, instead of just the "Lobster dinner a day we got all your profits big-wigs" :annoyed:

379665 2005-08-09 10:52:00 Labour has annoyed me by getting rid of the Air Force,
Why, what use was it?
Well if another airforce or Army stikes here I would amagine the Air Force may be of use.

and making laws that make civil unions legal.

Why? Are you religious?
Not as such. More on the way of values.

Having said that. National has not yet given the people their tax policy among other things so far.

Ah yes, tax cuts. And of course after the tax cuts come the services cuts. Naturally.

Excactly and why I will not vote National.

A while ago Labour and National fought it out with TAX CUTS.

Usually this was followed by borrowing. This of course will accrue interest.
You are quite correct in thinking a service cut will follow.

379666 2005-08-09 10:52:00 I make no secret as to my views on the church in question, I find them offensive in nearly every possible way.

The results of the poll are of interest to me though, While it is loaded against them the voting does give an option for the people to easily tilt it towards branding them a positive influence.

I for one have no idea how the general populece view them, though from our little poll I have more of an idea.

No different to people being banned on this forum for saying what's on their minds...........

.........Waits to be banned once more.I'm yet to see anyone banned from here for just "saying what's on their minds" unless its done with emphasis on abuse toward whoever is not agreeing, rather than debating the actual issue.

As for the Civil union bill, it merely allows gay couples who live together to have the same rights as heterosexual couples, such as pay more taxes because of thier partners earnings, involve lawyers in messy breakups thus insuring lawyers get everything and the couple can have whats left divided fairly rather than decide who gets what themselves, etc etc etc.....

Why gay people were fighting for these "rights" i do not know. Seems to me they just lost the only two advantages they had over hetrosexual lifestyles.

As I said. I will not be voting for the Destiny Church in any way. This does not mean I will vote in a poll which seems in my opinion to be somewhat loaded.

Noted that you do not say on which side of the fence you sit.

I think I comprehend what you are sayng.

In this case the POLL will give some results. You are only polling people whom have a computer.

Noted that you never answered any of my questions as usual.

379669 2005-08-09 11:14:00 Ele, why would you want to vote for a church for gods sake. I thought a church was something you attended to be with like minded people, to hone your spirituality in your chosen faith, etc.

Besides, if you want to discuss politics, you should start your own thread [hang on, I'll check the board], nope, nothing on the front page of the chat forum. This thread for discussing tools of the utterly useless kind.

379670 2005-08-09 11:16:00 There are always two schools, those that say,let the government tax us to death, in return they will look after us.Then the school I belong to,that taxes little and we look after ourselves.
Why it can't be seen that this lot and others too in the past, waste millions on everything,I don't have to name it,you must all see it everyday,is beyond me.
A classic is Ell saying we live in a police state and yet talks of voting labour.
The student loan thing, national talk of a reduction in interest, the labour lot the cynically triple the offer.

uh?

Who cares who you would vote for in the election, did anyone ask?, who cares if you wish to vote in the poll?, not me I assure you.

And a monkey would understand that the poll only reflects those that can and wish to vote, Thats the very nature of it, its relivence is for little more then a topic of conversation, Its not a revelation or any great truth uncovered....

Metla started a poll regarding the Destiny Church. This church is going into politics is it not?

So once again just not have an opinion?

Incidentally I use Metla as the name and you use Ele for mine. I have no problems using Murray P for a name assuming you want to use that.

If you actually read what was written you would see that I will not be voting for a church!

While I agree with some of the destiny church values this does not mean I will vote for them. They ARE ALSO a political party or were you not aware of that?

I think a stsatement like "I find them offensive in nearly every possible way" might just constitute getting off the fence.
