Palmerston North seems to have lousy coverage. -Qyiet Tested the coverage today.hmm..It did detect 3g coverage but it didn't work cos my other mobile isn't 3g.waiting for my nokia 6680 to be software upgraded. I experienced a slight speed increase with vodafone live |

| 379760 | 2005-08-10 12:15:00 | Typical!!! They bring out 3G instead of providing decent coverage for their standard network. I can't even get cellphone coverage at my house and it's not as if I'm in the boonies or anything. There is even a huge petition at the local Video Ezy calling for better Vodafone coverage. But oh no 3G is far more important so teenagers can "video chat" to their mates. What about the serious paying business customers who can't make a simple voice call?? I tell you it's enough to make you switch to Telecon. ;) |

| 379761 | 2005-08-10 12:35:00 | [QUOTE=jesseycyFor those who have been waiting awhile for Vodafone 3G, well, it's finally here! Do share your views / thoughts! Yawn. Next. I want a cell phone to talk on not keep the telcos in BMWs..[/QUOTE] I quite agree. 1.99 a minute is a disgusting price. Yet people pay it. We're still stuck on exhorbitant prices for normal mobile-mobile calls (49c a min) and even worse mobile-landline call prices. |

| 379762 | 2005-08-10 20:46:00 | 49c a minute is pretty darned good for a voice/video call if you ask me. What is it with people expecting to have everything for free, with no taxes as well. | Jeremy (1197) | ||
| 379763 | 2005-08-11 00:27:00 | Of course, no taxes... What else would you expect from such a good service?! ;-) </lame jokes> |

Now there is a phone with the features I am after. 3G, 2MP Digital Camera, 4GB HDD, Bluetooth and 802.11b. Not sure if it makes video calls, but I would sacrifice that for the other stuff. -Qyiet |

| 379768 | 2005-08-11 07:03:00 | 3G is all fine and dandy. Great technology, in fact. But I still look in dismay at the state of broadband in NZ. If Telecom can lead the way in 3G, then they can pull their finger out with the broadband too. |
