665073 2008-05-02 20:04:00 Anybody know of a way to convert a .bmp to a .pdf file? I need to edit two articles and I haven't got a clue. Do I need a special program? Thanks. starrekin61 (10116)
665074 2008-05-02 20:14:00 This

(www.primopdf.com/) This (http:)

Or This (www.cutepdf.com) MAY work.

Get the free not the Pro versions

You'll need a paint program for that bmp file, then load it, then point it to the PDF printer. After you install one of the above.

And it MAY create a PDF file of it.

665075 2008-05-02 22:18:00 Thanks Speedy. Was able to convert it - now I just have to find a way to work with the text on it. Will be back at it again on Weds. next week - my boss is going away for a few days. Have a great weekend. starrekin61 (10116)
665076 2008-05-02 22:25:00 hmm that maybe a bit tricky, you may need a pdf program, that can edit pdf files.

And if you manage to find one, it probably wont be free for long

Office 2007 / word can save files as PDF files, (with an addon).

But I dont think it can load PDF files

Have a great weekend too :)

I could edit it (if there's nothing work related in it), if you want, zip it then email it. Just let me know what to edit

665077 2008-05-05 01:37:00 Converting directly from BMP to PDF won't really help when it comes to editing, as the text will still be an image embedded in the PDF. You need OCR software to "read" the image and convert it into normal text (or, if there isn't too much text, it would likely be quicker to retype it manually). Nermal (7077)
665078 2008-05-05 06:09:00 Try OpenOffice for PDF conversion, you can easily chop / change text as well :)

Im a recent convert, works good ;)

PrimoPDF seems pretty good though also.

665079 2008-05-08 11:25:00 If the text was inserted in to the PDF from the image then you won't be able to edit it. As far as the PDF writer is concerned, the text is just part of the image. Only PDFs which have been created to include the text in a computer-readable form can be edited easily. TGoddard (7263)
