Was doing a info sys paper and talked about the company flying pigs and the lecturer meantioned that it did pretty badly and closed down.

What happened to it?Anybody here has some spare time to write a detail explanation into what happened to that company?

Go to Google NZ http://www.google.co.nz/ and select "pages from new zealand" and search for flyingpig.

379793 2005-08-09 21:54:00 Can't give any specific details, but from what I remember they folded because of lack of take-up in online sales. They also relied quite heavily on their affiliate programme which just didn't generate enough interest. Greg (193)
379794 2005-08-09 22:06:00 I recall them being linked to a high-flyer who crashed and put them out of business. They made ever-rasher decisions and their promised white knight never turned up to save their bacon. Whatever it was, they flew into turbulence and nose-dived into rising terrain.

None survived.

Cheers

379798 2005-08-10 02:07:00 As usual, porcine lift and aerodynamics were greatly exagerated. The crash at the end of the runway from an altitude of 0.0M was rather unspectacular. Murray P (44)
379799 2005-08-10 05:57:00 The only "Flying Pigs" I know about were seen at Western Springs a few years ago when Pink Floyd were here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PJ ;) Poppa John (284)
379800 2005-08-10 06:04:00 I could have told them it was going to fail and saved them millions, Amazon lost money for about 7 straight years before turning a profit, and that has a worldwide market.

(and 3 thousand dollars lose a day is suicide.......)

Did anyone here ever buy anything from Flying Pig?,I visited their site a couple of times and was completely unimpressed....
