379045	2005-08-07 07:54:00	I hope that someone can help me, as i dont know who to turn to, i dont think the police would do much for me. For almost a year now I have been stalked by someone or various people through email and cell phone txt. The messages vary from insults to serious threats, and they even tell me how they were watching me doing something today, or saw me walking with some !#!@ in town, and most of the time it really is something that I was doing, so it is rather scary! But the only proof i have is emails and txt msges, the txt msges have the numbers suppressed. recently it has been getting worse, and they are threatening violence towards me... I'm not sure if they are serious or not, but they do seem crazy. Everytime i block them i just get the msges from a new email, and it's impractical to change my cell number so often. Is there anyway I can track them down through their IP address? Or anything else that I can do? I often work late at the computer labs and have to walk alone through car parks and feilds, and they told me they often follow me doing so... Please someone can you help me?	bizzack (7739)

My guess is that someone has found your records somehow... eg in the trash/rubbish tip and just decided to have some fun with you... Paparazzi do it all the time with Celebs How often/ when do you recieve texts??? if its just mainly the weekends its probably some dipstick on an 021 mobile...	bob_doe_nz (92)
379048	2005-08-07 08:23:00	report it all to police. if it was just a txt message with a few bad words then maybe the police wouldent care much but if you have a few emails that are threatening violence then i am sure they will act. are they useing web email accounts you NZ ISP email accounts?? if they are using an ISP email account then the police will have more luck getting records. if iot was me i would contact the police without delay.	robsonde (120)
379049	2005-08-07 08:27:00	I don't think this is a Tech question, and I was simply going to state that you should block their addresses. Also, what email provider do they use, if it's a free service like Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail there may be a link on their website which you can use to report these sorts of things. But if they are threatening you in any way (obviously they are), I would definately go to the police. Text bullying is illegal (although I'm not sure if email bullying is), and it is a pretty serious offence, even if they don't seriously mean any harm. 379050	2005-08-07 09:35:00	As others have stated, go to the Police immediately. The text messages and the emails can be traced. But you do need to lodge an official complaint with the police first. This is not someone having a bit of harmless fun from the sounds of it. I am suprised considering the threats, you haven't contacted the police yet.	Jen (38)
