666040 2008-05-05 02:25:00 On this page (blogs.msn.nzherald.co.nz) the text looks terrible all sort of washed out and faded,

according to Firebug the font being used is Calibri, I am currently on an XP machine with office 2K (with compatibility pack installed) and it appears I have Calibri, however it looks heinous to be mild,
it looks equally crap in firefox and IE,
however it looks quite nice in Opera, and OK in Safari

Any ideas how I can improve the handling of this font, or the display of this page

heres a comparison of what the page looks like on this computer between Opera and Firefox

666041 2008-05-05 02:40:00 Sure does look terrible , I tried it on FF/Safari & IE = :yuck:

Both open in IE Compare (www.imagef1.net.nz) the two pages Press F1 & Herald, Different fonts I know but Press F1 is easier to read.

And in the page address it says " Rubbish-Free-Year" Hmmmmmm;)

666043 2008-05-05 04:52:00 I don't think it looks that bad. It might be that they aren't using black as their font color rather than there being a fault with the font itself. beeswax34 (63)

The rest of the herald site seems fine, actually your screenshot of the page in IE7 doesn't look too bad, in IE6 it is pretty terrible

Yeah to a point, I changed the font colour to black (using firebug) and the page look better, BUT it still doesn't look great, it also doesn't explain why the page looks fine in Opera, mind you judging from Wainuitechs screenshot i'd hazard a guess that all the latest iterations of the browsers show the page ok
as it seems to look OK in IE7 & FF3
