665683 2008-05-04 04:50:00 I bought this new fancy monitor, and tried a bit calibration that I've never done before. So far everything works fine, except its white point is quite off. Tried to look around options and I can't find any ways to calibrate the white point!

So, how should I do this? Do I need a specific software, or is it some other options that I was not aware of?

665684 2008-05-04 05:10:00 There should be a setting for 6500 degrees for White Point somewhere in the setup. That is the standard setting for monitor white rumpty (2863)
665685 2008-05-04 05:28:00 Thank you. Would that be in my monitor options, or device manager?

In my device manager there are no monitor options at all.

665686 2008-05-04 05:50:00 Now I'm here might as well ask another question: My monitor's image is very vertically squashed. I have altered it to the minimum on horizontal size, as well as experimenting with the resolutions. None of which can stop the alteration of the monitor. Are there any other thins I could do to make the image on it less misshaped as I need the image to be as accurate as possible for picture making.

Thank you all very much.

My 22" Wide Screen is set to 1680 x 1050
Check the recommendations in the manual

The 6500 setting is in your monitor options, somewhere on the monitor's front panel

665689 2008-05-04 07:57:00 Rumpty: I have set the settings on 6500, and thre are no further sub-settings from that point and onwards. And the white point is still not quite there.

Bantu: my LCD monitor is ViewSonic, VA1936w I believe. There are no manuals came with it.

I would imaging 1680x1050 would be perfect - however in my display properties I don't have that option. The closest I have is 1600x1200, proportional wise that's probably the main problem. However I can only choose different resolutions for the same proportion at this stage.

Again, thank you.

Are you measuring the white point temperature with some external device?

665691 2008-05-04 11:58:00 No. Just with the online white point calibrators for dummies. Selphiroth (13699)
665692 2008-05-04 22:31:00 Is it possible to adjust the RGB? I set my CRT screen to 9300k, but it is still a bit green (I never noticed it until I placed a different monitor beside it). When I get home, I'll post some images which you can use to calibrate. Not as good as a hardware device, but it helps a little. utopian201 (6245)
