2008-05-03 10:59:00 | I have just found out on Computer Hope (www.computerhope.com) that there is a AVG upgrade to free version 8. I'm using 7.5.524, but yet there was no reference to the upgrade when doing the usual AVG incremental updates. Why no reference? Anyone else here upgraded? If so, any noticeable differences or benefits? Thanks... | kahawai chaser (3545) | |

2008-05-03 12:15:00 | Yep, installed it on my bro's computer last weekend after doing Trend Micro's online House Call antivirus check (not as good as it used to be, are they not updating the definitions, didnt find Zlob), and found another 9 infected files, so I for one would recommend it. The program interface has been updated and seems to be easier to use. | feersumendjinn (64) | |
2008-05-03 12:24:00 | Each morning I manually check for the daily updates. On my AVG screen there is a section advising there is an update to version 8.0 and to click on it to download now. cheers, Marnie

2008-05-03 14:04:00 | Used it today and the only major difference seems to be the interface like feers.. said. Din't really check the memory footprint though. Still prefer Avast.

2008-05-03 19:51:00 | The program interface has been updated and seems to be easier to use. That is good, but I wish they would update their web site user interface it is very hard to navigate and VERY hard to find AVG free (it is hidden away somewhere)
