2008-05-06 08:30:00 | I switched to ihug last year but still kept my clear acct going just to slowly wean everyone off there and onto the new ihug address. I think you might find this hotmail prob has been going on for months!! I have been emailing them about this problem for months now and have had no reply from their helpdesk.NONE!! I discovered in january that none of my hotmail clients/friends/ family were reciving my emails from my ihug address. I rang ihug...they said to do this ....do that etc. So i started asking other ihug customers if they were experiencing the same. They werent sure, so tested the hotmail 'waters' to find, no, they were experiencing the same prob as me, but had been unaware. I have had to pay to retain my clear acct so that my hotmail database can recive emails from me. The most enbarrassing problem was accusing people of no-communication on Trademe and giving them a red or blue face. I felt so terrible! Ihug (now voadaphone) have a lot to answer to. AS far as i am concerned they owe me compensation for shoddy service and causing undue stress!! Very pissed off with them and rue the day I climbed on board!!!

2008-05-06 10:12:00 | This mindless nonsense from Ihug has been going on for almost a year now .. affecting messages I send to people at AOL, hotmail, comcast, dslextreme etc. Here is what I posted last December .... Sending email from IHUG to AOL Is anyone else with an Ihug account having problems reaching people at AOL? This has been the case for the last 3/4 days. This has been an ongoing issue for most of the year as far as having email to Comcast subscribers rejected from time to time, and now it has spread to AOL. From my limited understanding, Ihug customers are on dynamic IP addresses, and if email from the range of IP addresses used by Ihug outgoing mailserver is blocked by AOL , comcast, verizon etc in the US then your messages just won't go through. I've spoken to Ihug's 'help' desk about this and they say there is nothing they can do - someone is using their system to send out spam, and they either can't or won't stop it. So all their legitimate customers are affected. Their advice - "use a hotmail/gmail/yahoo address to send your mail". Or, "pay us another $20 a month for a static IP address" (with its increased risk of being hacked). Am I being unreasonable as a paying customer of Ihug's internet service in expecting to be able to have my email delivered?

The only way that they will take any notice, is if they start losing customers, and it affects their bottom line. There is plenty of competition out there. How about going for a NZ owned company, as vodafone isn't, so the profits they make go offshore, unlike with many NZ owned companies. I still recommend Xnet, even though I have been looking around at other ISPs, due to the international website loading speeds. |

2008-05-06 11:08:00 | robbyp, minty, deltasigma, I hate to agree because Ihug were awesome for a while, but Im just seriously disappointed with how badly things are. They wont do anything about the Email issue, and its gone on for a while now, even for a while my father had issues emailing Xtra people a little over a month ago... And what's worse is their response, they simply dont care! Ive been a proud supporter of Ihug for the last 12+ years now, but there comes a time when you need to say enough is enough :(

2008-05-07 08:28:00 | I have fallen out with Ihug/Vodafone already & haven't logged on yet because I do not have a password . I sent them an Email asking for the User Name & password, they sent me the Username . I replied that I also needed the Password . Their reply was that if I had not found the answer to my question in 7 days to contact them!!!!! I replied that as the deal was a "door sale" I had 7 days to cancel, so they had better get their fingers out . :badpc:
