You dont have to say it in every single post you reply to ! It's a whole can of worms that's best left unopened. People think what they like. Logic is made up in hindsight to support their gut feelings. I like vista, just cause it's pretty, but at the end of the day, no OS is perfect, so it's ONLY opinion. |

I'd hate to think this is gonna be one of those sucky threads where the original poster never replies again and we're all just left wondering "what if"... :D well perhaps the poster should have learnt how to spell and ask the question properly, so we actually know how to answer. Then again, I suppose it doesn't help it just ended up with people arguing over their opinions. Anyway, back to my experience (this is not opinion, this is what I have noticed when using Vista) Vista is horrible when it comes to copying files across hard drives (don't know why, but it is, and it's damn annoying) network performance is better than disk performance but since the files have to go/come from somewhere, and that somewhere is more than likely a hard drive. well, guess what happens? crappy network throughput as a result. I don't know why people say XP is so hard to setup and Vista is so easy. For me it's the other way around. in Vista you have so many options in so many different places (instead of being on ONE place like XP) and when you go to configure your 'network' you can actually configure 3 different things, all of which are completely different parts. In fact I would say Vista the most annoying to set up, XP/Linux is the best (for simply getting IP address/internet/share files/) and win98 etc slightly different to XP but in no ways difficuilt. |

| 665721 | 2008-05-06 00:33:00 | All i know I was responding to SPARTAN 860 first post where he stated his "opinion" Vista is better for networking. I responded with well known information it is not (with links to actually prove it lol). People are getting Spartans opinion mixed up with a response in fact, I don't state personal opinions they cause arguments :) It will be kinda funny if the Ops question has nothing to do with Networking. |

| 665723 | 2008-05-06 01:41:00 | Sorry your opinion is wrong, very very wrong lol. Its not like vs dislike argument, XP has better networking performance/ Now its end of argument. Ermmm, hang on a minute mate, Vista is a much better O/S than XP, true it is slower at present with transferring of files across a network, however normal users dont really get impacted with that. There is so many reason Vista is a better O/S in a network environment, I'm not going to list them, suffice to say random opinions from a gamer on the pros and con of a network design is basically just waffling..... Oh, and on the subject of network speed...Vista faster than XP (www.geekzone.co.nz) |

| 665724 | 2008-05-06 06:45:00 | Yes, I have acutally seen tests where Vista was faster than XP. They are rare, but they do exist, like on my computer dual boot with a 3DMARK06 test with my OCed GPU. Some say that Vista is better with quad cores. Maybe that is why I have the increase in performance. Thats why I though Vista was better. Better for beginners (my opinion) and almost as good in terms of performance. Agent 24, yes Vista RTM had crap HDD copying speeds, but SP1 is much better. When copying single files it is actually faster than XP. Battleneter2 I respect your opinions that XP is better than Vista, however, it seems that you have nothing but comtempt for my ideas. Why is this? Do you really hate Vista so much? |
