382206 2005-08-19 05:05:00 I'm off home for the day - but I got the answer before I leave. If anyone cares for the answer, it is (highlight the following):

--"thirty gross plus one" - A "gross" = 144--

382207 2005-08-19 11:49:00 Oh come on, fair suck of the sav! I haven't thought about "gross" since primary school.

Oh, apart from when I saw that Linda Lovelace film. :horrified

382208 2005-08-19 13:16:00 Well, if we want to be picky...

Strictly speaking, those four words don't make a sentence.
As Veale has said, a sentence is supposed to contain a verb.

(But that's grammar versus texters, so I guess I'm out of date)

382209 2005-08-20 01:25:00 a sentence is supposed to contain a verb.
That's not correct. eg "A dog" is a sentence.

382210 2005-08-20 03:30:00 "A dog" isn't a sentence. A sentence needs a subject and a verb. "A dog" by itself means nothing. ad_267 (6193)
382211 2005-08-20 03:42:00 And to add another piece of useless information - (unless you're taking part in a quiz, that is)

Question: What's the shortest sentence in the Bible?

Answer: Jesus wept.

It has both a subject and a verb.
