| 381331 | 2005-08-30 11:51:00 | VOTE NATIONAL I have read his speeches and find them a realistic and accurate overview of the current situation of this country . . Those speeches are writen by professionals to have exactly that effect, they are not a reflection of reality . I noticed some comments that would offend the hardcore spiritual and cutural Maori population but let's be realistic - those people are only a very small minority of the Maori population of New Zealand . .
Small, yes, but "spiritual and cutural" are the things lacking in any right wing faction in any society . Let's make a difference - lets make things fair and equal for all New Zealand citizens regardless of race . .
Yes let's carry on withan agenda that does not pander to those that only care about themselves and thier "equals" . eliminate pointless govt departments purely based on catering for minorites . .
Ie those without the financial clout to influence the policies of our elected representatives . bury our past mistakes .
without paying for them and look forward to the future as one national? of people instead of continually looking at .
correcting the repercussions of our colonial past! National seems to be the only party with enough guts to say what the majority of New Zealanders are thinking . . .
Guts? Brash is a womble . Take the time to do some research . Maybe give this election a miss and sit back and learn before you use your vote . Every vote counts . |

The fact remains that you seem to be swung by professional speech writers. We must all read between the lines or we are all wombles. |

| 381334 | 2005-08-30 12:16:00 | OK - maybe that was a bit harsh - I respect your opinions but do not agree with them . I tend to get a bit heated on politics - maybe I'm just sick of seeing hard working people and students trying to make a better life for themselves being dragged down by the ass end of society (dole bludgers + beneficiaries) and Labour encouraging this behaviour . . . I think National is the only way we are going to see any massive changes in our country - but of course they probably wont get the votes needed and even if they do would they even do what they are saying? Who knows . . . time will tell :) |

| 381335 | 2005-08-30 12:27:00 | My point was we do not need "massive changes" and what do you suggest we do with "the arse end of society" make them desperate enough to turn to crime and terrorism? anyway nice to see you are using an AMD instesd of that right wing Intel chip, I have a 64 bit one myself. :) |

| 381336 | 2005-08-30 12:40:00 | LOL - Intel chips are expensive and use an inferior design... OK maybe not massive changes but definately changes are needed in my opinion... Everyone is entitled to be able to live but they should have to work for their handouts because by sitting around doing nothing but watching tv, drinking, doing drugs and making babies (who take their parents' lifestyles as acceptable behaviour) whole communities are created that are nothing but dead weight and contribute nothing to society. These people only make it harder for everyone else and that's not fair. Sentences should also be made tougher for violent crimes and jails made less attractive to make people not want to break the law. |

| 381337 | 2005-08-30 13:19:00 | Deterrents, like jail, become an accepted risk to those that have no choice or choose that lifestyle. But jail can become a breeding ground for antisocial behavior as much as the disfunctional home does, it also costs us all more than just money. Having to work for your "handouts" doesn't seem to be a prority for major shareholders, in large corporations, who not only breed and watch television but sail large yatchts and sneer at the less fortunate. Back in the sixties we were shown how technology would give us all more leasure time but we were not told that we had to invest in conglomerates that would, eventually, take all the profit and take little of the responsibility. You cannot blame the woes of the world on those that need help. Have a little compassion for those less fortunate than yourself and you will find that this has its own reward. Politics is a game for those that choose to play and politicians should be seen to do what they do in the openness of the public eye. there will be times that, for the sake of security and governence, that all will not be seen but in the light of recent revelations I think a vote for National is a step towards a society governed by the wealthy for the wealthy and not a society governed by the people, for the people. Just look at the U.S.A. Do we want that? |

Barny, Its pure arrogance to state someone shouldn't vote because they have different views from your own, Which you quite happily spout forth as hard facts. I vote for change, lets trim the fat. |

Who are you calling a mold while you advocate throwing rocks in defence of ignorence? I suggested he, maybe, not vote until he understands what exactly he was voting for not because he has different views than my own and what is it you think I said to suggest what I said were hard facts? |

| 381340 | 2005-08-30 23:49:00 | meh . mold n . 1 . A hollow form or matrix for shaping a fluid or plastic substance It wasn't a case of name calling . Anyhow, You state that someone with differing views has simply been suckered by speechwriters . Easily the most arrogant statement I have ever seen . Its not ignorance on his part, its arrogance on yours . Rendering any input you may have as worthless . |
