I have a socket 939 3200+ Cpu, an asus mobo, 2gb of ram,300w PSU and an 80gb hdd but its not assembled and i have no case for it. I am going to sell it on trademe but im not sure wether to get cheap a case then sell it as a system or just sell it as parts, it has DDR-400 ram (512mb x4)

667244 2008-05-08 07:10:00 In the event you assemble all the parts and sell as a system then it might be best to explain what Asus motherboard you have. You might also mention what O/S comes with it or not.

No Keyboard, Mouse or Screen I assume.
No speakers and etc.

i dont have an OS that i can put on it, should i put linux on it, buy a new licence or put XP unactavated as a trial on it?
I have an Asus A8N-VM mobo.

667248 2008-05-08 07:47:00 What you can do is sell it complete then in the ad say it does not have a Operating system, but can be supplied with either Linux, or as mentioned a trail of Windows XPSP3 ( allows to install without a License entered), and the purchaser has to install a legal license within 30 days of install.

Give the possible purchaser the option.

667251 2008-05-08 08:15:00 No, you can get a copy of 32-bit XP and slipstream XP using nLite. Then install it WITHOUT entering a product key (like Vista).

And there's your trial copy of XP.
