666753 2008-05-07 02:38:00 A customer of mine is looking for some good photo management software that can also burn DVD video slideshows. Picasa doesn't appear to be capable of that.

What would you recommend?

666756 2008-05-07 06:45:00 Thanks. I recommended photoshop elements to the customer. Photo story is just for creating dvd slideshows, not managing your photos. Greven (91)
666757 2008-05-07 09:35:00 afaik Picasa free can do it .

If you want something better, Photoshop Lightroom does it and heaps of options .

If you want a real database which you can program and stuff, iMatch and iView and now bought by Microsoft under a diff name are also other options .

666758 2008-05-08 22:16:00 I use Pixfiler (www.br-software.com) which I find is an excellent file management system. It lets you have an on-screen annotation, & categorises each photo for instant sorting & info. You can create gift CDs - but apparently not DVDs.
Free 30-day trial. Very responsive help desk. I've used it 3 years & have enjoyed 2 upgrades for free in that time.
