2008-05-06 20:34:00 | Hi Guys I use Zonealarm Free. However, they seem to continually badger me to down load their latest update. This is a pain as it takes half an hour to download on ADSL and it is the whole program. Why cant they do like AVG does and just send us the virus updates, or the threat updates, rather than the whole program ! I also feel it is just a ploy to get us to buy the whole secuirty suite.

2008-05-06 21:07:00 | Thats one of the several reasons I switched to using Comodo for a free firewall. With comodo it updates, then may ask for a reboot.Even though the latest Comodo pops up with a message suggesting a upgrade to include antivirus you simply click no - and thats it.

2008-05-06 22:18:00 | Thats one of the several reasons I switched to using Comodo for a free firewall. With so much good talk on Comodo I purchased it and now run Pro. It is a lot more annoying than Zone Alarm used to be in my opinion and am seriously thinking of going back to Zone Alarm.

2008-05-06 23:00:00 | Yes I tried Comodo and did not like it. Far too many screens and far too many options and I could not find any network settings. I work on the basis that as an experienced computer user for the last 20 years If I can't find options easily and understand them, then it is not a good program. So I went back to Zone Alarm, which I wish would tidy up their user interface so that it looks like a windows product.

Probably not:thumbs: Couldn't agree More - I have Comodo on a couple of PC's that I have here & load it on customers PC's, I'm lucky ( or unlucky depends on how you look at it) if I get ONE pop up a week. Old story - Learn to use the software BEFORE rubbishing it - as for networking - NEVER had a problem because I went into the settings and SET THEM. Plenty of people here use comodo, and plenty can advice on how to set it - simply ask. Digby - it couldn't be easier - You are joking aren't you when you say Far too many screens and far too many options and I could not find any network settings. I work on the basis that as an experienced computer user for the last 20 years If I can't find options easily and understand them, then it is not a good program. Mustn't have looked very hard- Step 1 open Comodo -Click on Firewall button (www.imagef1.net.nz) - next go to Network Settings (www.imagef1.net.nz) Step 3 Alter the setting to what ever your net work uses (www.imagef1.net.nz) Step 4 Click Apply. |
