666289 2008-05-05 22:06:00 Hi guys

It seems to me my BB is limited by the upper speed to 3000 (when I do a speed test) and a friend's one (same line) goes to 5000/6000. Where do you set the limits for the ordinary Xtra D-Link modem (a few years old now, I think it was as 502?)

666290 2008-05-05 22:34:00 isp sets the speed with the plan. if both on max speed plans the difference can be the connection to the isp. directly connected to exchange is a whole faster than those connected via road side cabinet. those connected via road side cabinet will never get full speed reguardless of what plan etc they are paying for.

not many modems have speed limiting built in and don't think any of the basic ones isps sell have it.

666291 2008-05-05 22:37:00 Yeah tweak'e but years ago I got higher speeds. I'm still on the unlimited Voyager (10G) and my friend (on the same plan) achieve higher speeds so I think it is something in my modem.
