2005-08-23 09:52:00 | all we need now is a cellphone with dec ent battery life, from my calculations your battery would be dead in 4 and a half telecom minutes. | plod (107) | |

Cheaper than from landline. Nice. I dont think VF will follow. They will have to come up with something completely different, trouble is it will take them 6+ months to do so. Maybe they will have free text AND calling weekends, that would be cool. |

2005-08-23 10:32:00 | based on economic theory in that mobile market is a duopoly, then yes, they will follow. Wouldn't be surprised if its not in the next couple of days. But then again, how long did it take for free text!

2005-08-23 10:37:00 | Have to wonder whether the launch of 3G might have an impact on their ability to come back. I am sure costs leading up to 3G launch plus coming up with a plan to counter that will basically result in further loss of revenue will be giving their marketing team a headache. | sam m (517) | |
2005-08-23 10:39:00 | Nah, I don't think they'll follow.... Don't you guys remember the promo at the start of the year, where the max you pay max $4 for half an hour? OK, if you're on prepay, that'll be paying max of 8mins for half an hour... But it's not that different from Telecom's, and they didn't follow Vodafone then, so why should Vodafone do the reverse?

2005-08-23 21:29:00 | Read this media release from Telecom (www.telecom-media.co.nz) for those telecom mobile user, lucky u!!! :yuck: Only lucky if you're on PRE PAY telecom. I think it sucks that if you're on contract that you can pay 30 to 40 dollars a month and still only get 200 or so free minutes - 3 hours - if youre on prepay that would only cost you $9 !!! I reckon all should canvas telecom and get it applied to all their plans after free mintes used like when they released the international discount to new users and then had to back track and offer ti to all customers...

2005-08-23 22:11:00 | Im on contract and it sucks.Still so expensive !!! I was thinking of getting a telecom mobile but I doubt it will save me much.I text overseas and make calls oveseas. I dont think telecom can receive calls from overseas and their mobile can't text to an overseas mobile. Hmm.Guess have to wait and see what vodafone will offer.Hope they react quick
