382500 2005-08-20 08:25:00 We had a thread on tools/equipment everyone carted around but how about a bag for this stuff?
I'd like one that has plenty of pockets or zip compartments for:
CDs
Screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers etc
Cable ties
Invoice book and pen
Business cards
Maybe a space for my portable drive
somewhere to put screw/washer/jumper containers
but not some huge ungainly thing.

DSE only has tool kits, not really enough compartments. Bag shops tend to have only stupid "ladies" bags with room for either the kitchen sink or a lipstick or something pointless.

Builders bags are no good.

Anyone got anything useful they use?
Tired of needing 6 hands.

382501 2005-08-20 08:29:00 How about a small briefcase, into which you can put everything including the little toolkit bags Greg (193)

382503 2005-08-20 09:04:00 Those aluminium cases seem quite popular - sort of like an aluminium briefcase - I don't know what their proper name is. somebody (208)

Nah, not enough pockets and stuff. Anyway don't own a laptop, don't want to own a laptop.
I want lots of pockets, and things. And as small a bag as I can get away with.
And flexible. Aluminium briefcases are too much like taking luggage with you.

382506 2005-08-20 09:28:00 you can get those smaller aluminium briefcases though, i think ive seen them at the warehouse. Prescott (11)
382507 2005-08-20 09:46:00 camera bags (images.google.co.nz) are good for what you described, should include a shoulder strap

382508 2005-08-20 09:47:00 A soft-sided laptop bag without the laptop then :p

I take it a medium sized plastic tool box from the Plastic Box is out of the question as too bulky then? I have a small version of that which has the removable top tray with compartments of various sizes. It is too small to take CD's though.
