667097 2008-05-12 22:17:00 I was literally back to dial-up speeds last night ~5-8Kb/sec, I gave up trying to download anything.

The speed is fine in the morning though, getting 300-400Kb/sec which is about right for my connection.

667098 2008-05-13 05:02:00 Same here, the upload speed was about 1-4kbps and the download speed was about 10-15kbps. we have had the download speed up around 300kbps! which is fast considering the deal that we are on. acronum (13577)

667100 2008-05-13 05:20:00 Yep, this is causing a lot of confusion.

There is 8 bits in a byte.

The proper abbreviations are kilo-bits per second - kbps and kilo-bytes per second kb/s.

To avoid confusion.

Here the actual download speed is 7,100 kbps.

Which translates into real-world download speeds of around 700 - 800 kb/s.

Don't know what school you went to but it is normal to show kilo-bytes per second as KBps note the capital B .

kb/s Kbps and kbps all indicate kilo-bits per second

667103 2008-05-13 09:52:00 I had 2 days of pathetic speedtest reports that I was going to mail of
to Vodafone Ihug tonight.
However I suddenly discover tonight that I have broadband again !

Has anyone else suffering from low speeds noticed this ?

Regards
Camford
