382962 2005-08-22 11:29:00 Also,a question is why would they charge $4000 for 20GB. why could they earn such a huge profit? what's their cost? echo (8762)
382963 2005-08-22 11:43:00 Also,a question is why would they charge $4000 for 20GB. why could they earn such a huge profit? what's their cost?Because they can.

The cost is 5/8th of sod all, however it's the same reason Vodafone will "give you" 200 minutes for $30 then charge $1 per minute after that.

Also, I've just done the math, and I'm not getting anywhere near $4k for 20GB on any of their plans. What plan were you on?

382964 2005-08-22 12:53:00 Echo. I sympathise with you.

I suggest keep pleading with them, and stick to your story that their imperfect service at least contributed to your over-spend.

If they are completely stubborn, advise that you're prepared to fight it. You can take it to the small claims court, where you'll be able to argue your case without having to appear in a regular court. You may get a sympathetic adjudicator who may decide to split the costs. Maybe.

Good luck.

382965 2005-08-22 19:53:00 Try the Fair Go television program.
They may not help you but it will become one of those articles on things not to do.

At the end of the day however why should telstra carry you for something that was an act of your own stupidity?

If you left your heater running 24 hours a day and ran up a huge bill, would you expect your power company to ignore the usage? Take it as a lesson in life.
