apples=asus and squashes=MBP??
probably similar/better quality= which one makes the better?
I'm just thinking I might go MBP?
NT

Maybe apples = MBP?? Apple does make them anyway ;)
I don't think we could call Asus a squash though...

667138 2008-05-08 02:04:00 Yes, the apple is Asus...

I should have used a different example. The MBP is definitely a squash.

I'm not quite with it today.

Maybe a rock melon. Destructible. :p

667139 2008-05-08 02:46:00 I'm curious

How many of you have dealt with Asus NZ? for repairs etc?

667140 2008-05-08 03:19:00 We have an ASUS tablet (similar to a lappy though) and only had one problem - the latch to keep the screen down is broken.

Remove the antivirus as soon as you get it though, it's Norton. :yuck:

667142 2008-05-08 06:14:00 If you want a decent laptop, Lenovo or HP are your best choices.

Don't buy a Mac, the new ThinkPad is far better and cheaper if you get one with a HDD in it.

Would you be able to elaborate the reasons?
What is negative on MBP(except $$) and what is so good on ThinkPad?

667144 2008-05-08 11:43:00 Wait, are we talking about a MBP or the Macbook Air?

Even if we are comparing a MBP, the specs that Vitalstatistix gave you START at $3198. For the same price (most of them are cheaper), I could get:

www.einfo.co.nz

Awesome: www.einfo.co.nz

www.computerdirect.co.nz

www.sigmapconline.co.nz

www.softwareshop.co.nz

pbtech.co.nz

www.pbtech.co.nz

AND, you aren't stuck with crappy OSX. Can't even maximize windows: WTH?

I clicked on all the links! That must've taken you some time to find?
Some of those look like decent machines and it gets harder for me to decide what I want to do in the next month or so .
I have a Mac friend and he is a 200% Mac fan(and user for at least 4years) and he tries to convince me that MBP is the best of them!

Not sure who ASUS NZ is, but all ASUS laptops I sell get this number, warranty or non-warranty.

And they're great.
