No I didn't but I have just read the first half of the article you linked to and I get the gist of what is implied. I thought my post partly supported your viewpoint by looking at absolute oil usage, rather than relative usage as was suggested by vinref. The link I provided partly debunks the myth that China could be construed to be a low oil user if you only looked at the per capita usage. Apologies if you took my post the wrong way. To get to the utopia implied in that article, I wonder if we have to get back to 'village' life (the way the Poms do it) as opposed to the American style big city living with it's random (and greedy) urban sprawl. Such sprawl promotes fewer yet larger 'super centres' that force residents to be self-reliant for transport given they live so far away from such conveniences and public transport (if any).
