382947 2005-08-22 09:01:00 Please don't compare me with your customer, I had a good usage history. Telstraclear didn't send July bill to the right place made me didn't found out the software problem earlier. Am i crazy to overuse the internet on purpose? I should've known earlier if they give the July bill!! instead of two-month billBut how are they to know that. Your story might be true, in that case it's the misfortune of not knowing what you're doing, you have to pay.

But for 90% of these kind of claims, it'll be the flatmate or houseguest that overused it, the had to download the entire first season of lost dvd-rip compulsion so we'll make up a story to get around it.

They can't be faulted for what was your problem. Face the facts.

If you decided to clean your car with brake fluid and stripped the paint off, the dealership aren't going to give you a cut price deal on getting it resprayed because of your own mistake, this is not that different.

Might be time to get a KoL dialup account

382948 2005-08-22 09:05:00 telstraclear customer with paradise cable internet...
You would have been given username and password, no if's no but's, that a certainty, wether you have a email address that is a different story..
Username and password is a must to run a cable modem, and I suppose a Adsl modem and as a dial up modem..
It is up to the user to go to the correct website to check on their usage, and when using p2p programs I would check very othen, have been stung myself when using bittorrent,
If you do have a student allowance the best thing to do is vote for labour and the money you save on the interest will pay off your bill in no time...

382952 2005-08-22 09:14:00 Fight it.
What else have you got to lose. I wouldnt go to any lawyer expense or anything like that. Just ask to speak to a manager and ask them to at least listen to your side of it. You do have a valid point but as others have said you dont really have a legal arguement so you will be basically begging for some sort of relief. Dont get hostile as It is harder for someone to say piss off when you are talking calmly.

read the whole post - I said he had no legal arguement

It's obvious he cant afford it so why not go down at least asking the question.
