| 666326 | 2008-05-06 01:27:00 | :angry Hi I am getting the following error message when I try to open works word processor. Works cannot access one or more files it needs to run word processor. The files may have been rename moved or deleted. Try reinstalling works, then starting the program again. I have tried reinstalling twice but I am still getting the same message. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem. |

| 666329 | 2008-05-06 05:07:00 | You have not said what version of works you have but Try this - but make sure you have saved any data you have created that may be stored in the works folder in C:\programFile\Microsoft Works - As it will completely delete it. The install files or actual working files / reg keys to works may be damaged, TOTAL removal should fix it, simply uninstalling it via add/remove programs wont do it. To remove it fully -(full instructions in the links below) Go to This Microsoft (support.microsoft.com) page, Scroll down and download the file wks6w2k.exe from under windows 2000. Note: I just used the removal tool to rip out works 7 Then go Here (support.microsoft.com) and download the windows installer clean up Utility. Run the works removal first, then the clean up, and select works from its list (if its there) DONT remove any other program with the clean up Utility as it may lead to all sorts of problems. Reboot the computer and reinstall works. |
