382652 2005-08-21 04:29:00 I read somewhere that one major airline is about to make broadband available in its interational planes via WiFi.

As I understand it, WiFi has very limited range, if true, how can it be made available when a plane may be thousand of miles from any land area?

382653 2005-08-21 04:35:00 Easy. To achieve this just requires money. Planes are in line-of-sight with lots of satellites. The WiFi part of the link would be confined to inside the plane. Graham L (2)
