| 382622 | 2005-08-21 03:16:00 | I have a SHARP CD-BP1500W stereo here that wont turn on. When I plug it in and turn the power on at the wall, the screen on the stereo reads, "PROTECT". I've checked the input voltage, it's correct. I've checked the fuses inside, they're all fine. I've left it unplugged for 24 hours to se if it would somehow reset itself, that didn't work. I have it apart and can see all the insides.. When I connect it to power the fan doesn't even spin and nothing seems to happen except for the screen saying, "PROTECT". Does anyone know how to fix this or if there is some way to reset the stereo unit. The cause of the problem is probably loud music, so loud that the stereo couldn't handle it and decided to turn itself off. I've had this happen with other stereos and fixed it either by unplugging it for awhile or chnaging the fuses. But that doesn't seem to work here. Does anyone have any ideas? |

I have one of their older models and whenever mine does it I can hold a few of the buttons down and it resets. But this method doesn't seem to work either.. Or the newer one uses different buttons, but she can't find the manual for hers. |
