| 382536 | 2005-08-20 11:01:00 | We have Sky Digital, and it occasionally drops the signal, and resets to channel 0 (The Sky Preview channel). It appears to happen around midnight, but last week was especially annoying as we taped Hiroshima on Channel 1, 10pm to 12pm, but it cut out one hour through, so around 11pm. It may be disconnecting every day, I dont know as we dont normally watch TV after 11. It has been happening for a few months now, and yes I have spoken to Sky about it a while ago, hence this posting. They explained it was to do with them "resetting the server" or something similar, to do tests. I'm not sure how much to believe this reason, so wanted to ask here if anybody else has the same problem! Depending on responses to this post I will be calling Sky again to complain, and consider switching to Saturn TV perhaps as it's just too frustrating. Any help or comments about similar experiences appreciated. Thanks. |

Ring Sky and get them to come and look at it. Mine did it not long after I first got mine several years ago. My sister's did it last month not long after they got it installed. They rang and they guy came out and changed the decoder and all is now well. Sounds like a faulty batch of decoders they keep reusing. |

Also got a letterthe other day from telstraclear offering me their new digital service which is coming up shortly for an xtra $5 dollars a week, the letter said the quality would be better then sky's digital offering's... I guess we won't find that out until it's up and running.. |

Yes we are in a Saturn area (Chch Cashmere), and now I'm curious about the telstraclear digital option. Anybody got further information on this, or a link to info? |

| 382543 | 2005-10-07 21:10:00 | An update on this is I did call Sky and got a technician round to look at it . He said it sometimes happens with the model decoder we had, so gave us a newer one which so far works fine . So my advice to anyone having similar problems with their decoder is ring and complain and get someone in to look at it . You wont be charged . . . unless you have done something to cause the problem  He also let us keep the old remote "just in case we lose one", and I see it looks exactly the same except the old one says "Made in Korea", the new one "Made in Mexico"! |
