667965 2008-05-10 08:17:00 Hiya's

I would like some info to build/buy a new game computer mainly to be able to play Age of Conan, unfortunately I can't find the min specs but I know it is dx10 and vista compatable. The beast (pcworld) is out of my price range mainly due to that expensive cpu.

My price range is in the region $2500 to $3500 some of the built systems advertised on trade me fall in this range any body care to comment.

32 or 64 vista not at all sure what to invest in or should I keep to winxp.

Any comments would be appreciated

667966 2008-05-10 08:20:00 If you want DX10 I dont think it works on / with XP.

It may depend on whether you want an Intel or AMD system / the CPU, and what kind of ram youre going to put in it.

Does your budget include a monitor?

667970 2008-05-10 08:41:00 Go with intel cpu's. As for graphics, I would say a 8800GT 512mb version as a bare minimum for a gaming pc. EviLClouD (12981)
667971 2008-05-10 08:47:00 How bigger monitor would be your preference?

From that you can work out how much you got left for a system.

667972 2008-05-10 09:45:00 Seriously, go to ascent.co.nz and build it yourself or call a local computer dealer and talk specs with them.

That way they understand your needs and you see what products you're getting without being stuck with parts you'll never need.

And never buy a system without seeing it and testing it first from TradeMe.

You're price range is more than enough for an awesome rig and a HUGE monitor :D
