667673 2008-05-09 09:59:00 Since I install Windows XP SP3 I’m having network problem. Live in a house with 2 other female flat mates and we have a policy when logging onto Trademe to reset the Router to get new IP Address. Reason why because Trademe recently banned 2 of our accounts because we were both on Trademe using same IP Address and they told use we were only allowed to have 1 account per household even though we are different people. So we reset our Router now to get new IP Address.

When I reset my router now I get Yellow Triangle with Exclamation mark in the centre. This icon appears in right hand corner of the screen. Tried clicking on icon then right mouse button and click Repair but that doesn’t fix the problem. Only way to fix the problem is to Reboot the Computer. Would appreciate anyone help in fixing this problem. This problem is not happening on any other computers around the house.

Thank you for the response and that what we originally did but Trademe was not happy with as using same IP Address. But would really like to figure out how to fix this problem which I never had before.

667678 2008-05-09 10:26:00 Hmm sounds strange that SP3 would cause it, even tho it was fine before SP3 was installed.

I mean depending on WHAT browser you use there, whoever logs in first, once you finish, close the browser / log out.

Then clear the cache using ccleaner or something then the other person log in.

Haven't had any major problems with Windows since installing it 4 1/2 years ago till last night . And the problem started after reseting my router following day after installing SP3 .

Is there anything within my Local Area Connection Properties that could be causing the problem??

667680 2008-05-09 11:31:00 Are the other computers having the same connection problem, routers are not meant to be consistently reset. When you reset a router, it loses the IP address, and some of the time you have to reboot the PC to get it to redetect the connection.

Out of interest who is your ISP ?

The other computers are not having this problem and they have been updated to SP3. Never had to reboot the computer to get reconnection till yesterday and I've never seen Yellow Triangle Icon on Taskbar next to clock before.. Using Xtra as my ISP

667682 2008-05-09 19:39:00 Maybe instead of resetting the router, you could do what I do and just unplug the phone jack from the back of router (or the wall) for a few secs. I do this when I want a new IP address. Nyuuji (5460)
