384391 2005-08-28 20:26:00 . . . . . . . just some fun stuff for a change . . . . nothing earth-shaking . . . ok?

Ever wonder from where the technical name for weather guessers really came?

It's an olde language idiom or one of the black sciences . As there were alchemists who were trying to change more base elements into gold, there were those who decided upon a riskier career challenge .

Seeing as the failure rate of today's weather prognosticators is a little more than 40%, just how did all those ancient weather people ever keep their heads when the king got caught in a sudden un-predicted blizzard on a military quest? Seems like the gene pool would have weeded out those with such inclinations of self-destruction . Makes one believe that evolution didn't work here either!

Here's the article . ( . theregister . co . uk/2005/08/26/shooting_stars/print . html" target="_blank">www . theregister . co . uk)

Enjoy . . . . . . .
