Nope, must work PROPERLY. Get game, install game, play game.
Likewise if I wanted a Playstation I wouldn't run an emulator instead.

1357294 2005-08-31 23:51:00 mmm pornography lol...

anyway, back to the point....

I love linux.

I switched in may and it has been great. I can't even remeber if I had to f**k around too much with it...

Installing winmodem!? Peice of cake. I just got a intel 536ep modem ($30 from dse) got the drivers from the site and typed 3 little commands...
./configure
make
make install

Argh!!! attack of the command line!! really... you windows users have to harden up.

Games? Currently I have UT2K4, NFSU2, and COD working perfectly on linux, running under cedega.

Cedega? That was a point and click affair to install.

So yeah.. loved that article by the way... that was classic.

Anyway i guess at the end it depends how willing you are to ditch the sh*theads at microsoft and start looking out for number 1.

Its better when you don't use microsoft. It kinda feels like, if you were buying fur of baby seals that have been clubbed to death for a while, and then start buying synthetic fur, a huge thing of guilt is lifted off your shoulders.

The baby seals that have been clubbed to death in this case are MS's rival companies...

Microsoft is as easy as being kicked in the teeth.... :P

Yes - problem free huh - not. Its just WineX. And that didn't work too well either.
As for the games you have - a whole 3. How about the other 2000 or so?

1357298 2005-09-01 02:39:00 pctec,

I realise that games mean a lot to you, but are you aware that some of us couldn't give a fetid dingos kidney about games, on any platform?

Having said that i do like KMahjongg ;)

1357299 2005-09-01 02:50:00 Games are just software, actually not just software but the biggest selling software there is.

So, even if dismissed so easily they still represents a huge gap,as does all the other 50 billion software titles that are unmatched on Linux.

The reason Linux has crap software suport is because of its tiny user base, the cause of its tiny user base is due to Linux itself........

Well allthough i have no need to install non-linux software, i must try some just to see what all this fuss is about. personthingy (1670)
1357301 2005-09-01 03:55:00 Wise choice, select 5 or so video editing applications that run nativly on Linux and then get back to us.

I'll do the same on Windows and return with my preference's and capabilities of each.
