667880 2008-05-21 09:23:00 I applied the last of my grey matter and got Gparted up and running.

Can't resize C though, so will have to do a bit more reading. So far there is no indication I am doing anything wrong, but, does the free space have to be adjacent to the partition being resized?

Oh and I've made a chink of the unallocated space extended, but still unallocated (not formatted).

667881 2008-05-21 10:03:00 If you have unallocated space, just convert your partition into dymanic and add some of the unallocated space. You can do this through disk management SolMiester (139)
667882 2008-05-21 10:24:00 Cheers SolMeister .

MSs version of software RAID on top of RAID eh . I'm not sure I want dynamic disks . Besides, everything points to it being possible via Gparted or similar, so that's what I'll keep aiming for until I run out of options . I also prefer to work outside Windows for such tasks, on unmounted partitions .

I'll keep the dynamic disk idea in mind if (when) I run out of options .
