| 1357465 | 2005-08-30 10:32:00 | I have already suggested to the site admin, not the chat buddies that there should be an ignore facility on here for example for people who do more against good that for it.Jesus, for a "Digital Builder" who likes to annoy the living bejeezus out of webmasters around the world by sending them irritating, no doubt confusing, and probably with an unhealthy number of graphs and formulae suggestions for their websites, including all these features you keep crapping on that you want to add to vBulletin. Have you actually bothered to use the software? vBulletin has an ignore list, you used to be the exclusive feature on mine. However the fun and amusement got to me. pressf1.pcworld.co.nz It's really not that hard - try and slip a little bit of common sense, and perhaps even use the internet before making suggestions to people. Slot it in between car lifting sessions (cos seriously who puts that in their CV?). I'd better go with you..Yeah, there'll be blackjack and beer. Edit: See you crackas in 24-48 hours no doubt. ;) |

| 1357469 | 2005-08-30 14:48:00 | I have done a few OS Commerce sites and would be interested in getting a stripped version for NZ, altho I nearly have completed that myself. You name the components you think could do with changes. I have also been working on a completly different layout for the site, to suite a different type of business, just slap on the logo and skin to whatever color suits. |

| 1357470 | 2005-08-31 01:51:00 | Hey Rob Could I perchance see the sites you created using OS commerce, i have avoided using it in the past, because most of the sites I have seen using it look identical just different colour schemes OS commerce sets up the whole package doesnt it, database, admin, storepages etc how easy is it to disable/ hide features that you or your client doesnt need, I am assuming it won't be hard to change the way the pages are displayed (for someone with a vague knowledge of PHP) //is the code commented? Creighton sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, It sounds like a good idea Cheers |

Creighton sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, It sounds like a good idea Cheers It's okay nigel. 1]You can find template sites online, they can go beyond colour code customisations if done by specialists 2] It has /admin section and a MYSQL Database. 3] There is standard store pages but you can get tweaks 4] the standard admin console allows changing the order in which items are displayed and or turning sections on or off 5] you can try tweaking it yourself but the build i was playing with is 110,000 lines of code so it can be quite slow. 6] The code does have some comments Don't worry about hijacking it, was meant for discussion. I have actually just got reseller rights to OSC templates from overseas in the last 24 hours. Thinking of making a page on my site for like 'choose a template' then offering installs for $50 install/Setup, $15/month webhosting + $38/year domain + $25 template configuration. |

I am still working on the layout change, I know there are templates you can buy, but I'm a cheap b@$tard so making on myself. You can use dreamweaver to load the index page to make layout changes to the tables if you find that easier, but to delete the components in the side pannels it's just one line of code I normally comment out or shift where I want it. |

There is some good examples out there: www.digitalbuilder.co.nz/Services_OSCommerce_Templates_Digital.asp (www.digitalbuilder.co.nz) I previously have found maybe 5-10 'Elite' ones out of maybe several hundred. Some were limited edition and may not be available anymore. |
